Did you know here at SVVS we take in injured wildlife? This is a FREE service we provide for the community during office hours, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 8:30am - 12pm & 1:00pm - 5:00pm and Wednesday 8:30am - 12:00pm.

We have a wildlife fund that you may donate to, which helps us provide this service! You can make a monetary donation, bring gift cards by the office or we also have an Amazon Wishlist if you’d like to purchase any of the items to donate for our wildlife care! These donations are tax deductible.

You should always be extremely careful when handling wildlife. There are certain species that are rabies vectors, which means that they can harbor and transmit the virus through their saliva before showing signs of illness themselves. Because rabies is a zoonotic disease (may be passed from animals to humans) we are not allowed by Virginia State Law to rehabilitate certain species.

If you have any questions regarding wildlife, please give us a call at (276) 265-8183 and we will advise you to the best of our abilities or you may contact the Southwest Virginia Wildlife Center of Roanoke at 540-798-9836

Local Rehabilitators can also assist you with any needs you may have. Call or send them a text for assistance.
